The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare’s Salmon office is moving to a new location on Friday, June 10th. The new office is located at 111 Lillian St., which is five blocks west of the current office at 1301 Main St. The new office will offer the same services and office hours as the current office.
The Salmon office will close for all services on Thursday, June 9th, with the office furniture and equipment being moved. Telephone service also will be disconnected on June 9th, but will be re-established when the office reopens at the new Lillian St. location at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 10th. The Salmon DHW telephone number will remain the same at 208-756-3336.
The Salmon office serves approximately 200 people each month, with most from Custer and Lemhi counties. The office provides public assistance, Medicaid, children and family services, and mental health services. The move is taking place to save on leasing costs. Office hours at the new location remain from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The move does not affect Infant Toddler Program developmental disability services offered through DHW’s Salmon child development center office.
