SUGGESTED ROLES

Review and make recommendations to the annual Children and Family Services Program Comprehensive Plan.

Participate in federal Children and Family Service Reviews and subsequent statewide Program Improvement Plans (PIP's) and Regional Improvement Plans (RIP's).

Review cases in order to make recommendations regarding implementation of the Adoption Safe Families Act.

Observe and participate in the process of decision-making for permanency of children in care and make recommendations regarding that system.

Observe and participate in children's six- and twelve-month case reviews.

Make recommendations for recruiting and maintaining additional foster care homes.

Make recommendations for recruiting adoptive families.

Initiate or support special projects to encourage community involvement regarding special needs adoptions.
- Participate in "Public Participation" projects.
- Participate in the child fatality review process.
- Participate in special case reviews as requested by the program manager or the Department of Health and Welfare's regional director.
CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT
Because we value and respect the privacy of individual citizens, those whose profession requires that they act to protect children, and those subject to intervention by the Child Protection System, it is our obligation to not discuss information and/or cases outside of the designated panel meetings.
Under Idaho Code, case information about actual cases must be held in confidence. Panel members sign oaths of confidentiality, requiring them to protect legally mandated privacy rights.
