Facility Fire Safety and Construction

This program provides oversight and management of the Facility Fire Safety and Building Construction (FFS&C) requirements for all state licensed and/or federally certified health care facilities.  To accomplish these tasks, FFS&C staff perform facility plan reviews and approvals, on-site plan inspections/finalizations, consultations, and periodic facility fire and safety surveys, including complaint/fire investigations.  At present, our scope of responsibility includes:

  • Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
  • Hospitals 
  • Skilled Nursing Facilities/Nursing Homes (SNF/NH)
  • Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID)
  • Residential Assisted Living Facilities (RALF)
