In an effort to reduce expenses, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has announced that effective February 1, 2010, it is terminating the professional services contract between the Department and Business Psychology Associates (BPA). The Department originally contracted with BPA in 2006 to support the Medicaid Mental Health Provider Credentialing process. BPA was contracted to develop a Web site, solicit and evaluate initial provider applications, and collect and evaluate provider responses to self study requirements.
During the past three years, BPA met the terms of the contract by successfully evaluated over 375 provider applications and self study documents leading directly to over 265 credentialed mental health providers.
Those contract functions previously performed by BPA will be brought in-house by the Department.
