The Environmental Health Unit recognizes that the comfort and well-being of Idahoans depends on factors in our physical environment.
Simply put, human health depends on the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, the homes we live in, our workplaces, and the communities in which we live.
The mission of the Environmental Health Unit is to protect the public health from exposures in the environment. We conduct public outreach, education, and analysis of potential health threats associated with naturally occurring and manmade contaminants.
We also educate the public about health effects associated with air and water pollution, indoor air contaminants, fish consumption advisories, and participate in cancer cluster investigations in the state. Our program centers on four main areas:
* Community Resource Handbook
* Idaho Private Well Owners Brochure
